University of Tulsa Graduation Photoshoot - Jamil Gotcher Photography

Karla Snell is graduating University of Tulsa College of Law today! CONGRATULATIONS KARLA 🍾🎉👏📚 I was so honored she selected me to commemorate this milestone with a cap and gown photoshoot! At first I thought she wanted portraits in the studio but she told me she wanted the photos to look more like my high school senior portrait cap and gown photos on my website. She also told me she didn’t like being photographed. What an even bigger honor that she felt like I would make her feel comfortable in front of the camera!

I’m so thankful she trusted me to make her feel at ease for her experience in front of the camera. It is a photographers job to not only deliver professional and beautiful photos but a great experience.

Karla, like so many women and mothers put her career on hold to raise a family. Which really made this a very special photoshoot for an awesome lady. She also wanted some portraits with her husband David, which I was happy to do. Karla is married with grown children! How inspiring is that?! Her husband David is such a great guy and was so helpful during the photoshoot, taking the law books back to the car when we no longer needed them. The location was the TU College of Law and a couple of other locations on campus. Have a look at the portraits Karla ordered from her graduation session in the gallery below.

Tulsa Photographer - Fashion Model Portfolio Photoshoot for Mikayla

Fashion Model Mikayla needed to update her portfolio and her Mother selected me to create new images for her teen daughter’s professional fashion model portfolio. As a former professional fashion model I remember what it was like to be a new model and I was so fortunate that my Dad was a professional commercial photographer here in Tulsa. You can have a great look but professional images from an experienced model portfolio photographer will attract the higher end brands and model agencies. We started the session at the studio and then we went to Downtown Tulsa so that her portfolio had variety and didn’t look like it was shot all in one session. Mikayla was great in that she followed my direction. Following direction is an essential skill a professional model needs. Following direction requires the model to listen to the photographer so that they can create first class images that will be used by her model agent to market the model. Make sure to also keep scrolling to view the photo gallery of the portfolio photos of Mikayla we shot in Downtown Tulsa.

Child Modeling Portfolio Photography - Tulsa Photographer Jamil Gotcher

Although Natalia is just starting her modeling journey I am so glad her Mom chose me to help them! Natalia was a natural at giving great expressions for the camera and with some guidance on posing, her professional modeling photos will give her the professional edge needed to succeed at professional modeling. Studio modeling portfolio photos always give an aspiring model more credibility and professional modeling experience. Studio model portfolio images convey that your child or an adult model has professional photoshoot experience and that they are comfortable with a professional photographer taking their photo. Studio portfolio images convey that the model has worked in a professional photoshoot environment.

I’m so happy that I can help Natalia’s parents not waste their money and time with headshot photos that are not the industry standard. Child model’s need a great smiling headshot! We also shot some non smiling headshots that would also appeal to online children’s fashion magazines and catalogues. But don’t forget the smiling headshot! A professional headshot is very important. We also shot with my Nintendo Switch for a commercial product shot, which every well rounded child modeling portfolio needs.

Tulsa Senior Portrait - Featured Session

Today’s Tulsa Senior Portrait Session features Bishop Kelley High School Senior Chloe. This is the first session of Chloe’s multi session (3 sessions) senior package. She will have two more mini sessions after this session so she and her parents will have the rich colors of beautiful Fall too as a backdrop and the second mini session will be a cap and gown session in the Spring. This is not the first time I have photographed Chloe. I have also photographed her for a fashion photoshoot for Dillards and for some model portfolio images. She is great to work with as a model and follows direction well. I was very honored when this Bishop Kelley Senior and her parents selected me to be Chloe’s senior portrait photographer! Make sure to visit my senior portrait gallery to view other locations and senior portrait ideas.
